MONDAY: We had a Jedi, 'cinco de mayo' party! hahah so funny!! YSA FHE IS THE BEST!!! 

TUESDAY: So... we may have dine and dashed   :(    We went to a buffet with a less active family, and we just got up and left when they did. We didn't really think anything was wrong until we were planning and talking about the day... and thought about it ...and realized that they probably didn't pay.....#AWKWARD 

WEDNESDAY: OK can we just say that wednesday is literally adventure day! Just go back and look at all my Wednesdays they are always the biggest day of the week.   Just saying. Anyway... we drove to.....drum roll.....MISSOURI!!! Hahah we were told by Sister Bell to go talk to someone in Independence. So that was weird. And let me just say, MISSOURI HAS NO IDEA HOW TO SET ROADS UP!! It was ridiculous. 

Oh, also today we helped one of our investigators open her pool. That was fun. 

THURSDAY: We watched like a couple people trip and fall today.  So sad! We were in the car so we couldn't really stop and help them.... "so sorry!" "god loves you" 

FRIDAY: sick day

SATURDAY: ZONE TRAINING!!! wow! I just remembered a story! Haha! So we walked into a nursing home where we have a few people we study with there.  And we start talking to these Jehovah Witnesses that were there.  All of the sudden all the nurses start running around and yelling "back door! back door! back door!!!!!" and we were all like ".........um....ok" 

So we go about our business and then we see Bud, one of our favorite little old men, and he just has this smirk on his face. The first thing he says is "hi ladies, I escaped today!" hahah!!! We had to fight to hold back our laughter!! So... that happened 

SUNDAY: We had a few people at church. I got to talk to the family for mother's day. They made me really mad talking about how much time I have left.  NOT ENOUGH!!!

But I still love you guys. It was nice to talk to you

May 4

SO....Here Goes.....Literally the most adventurous week of my mission 

MONDAY: We watched 'Meet the Mormons' with our YSA for FHE. It was a pj night so everyone came in sweats and pj pants.....but one of the 'kaw valley sister's' investigators wore his prison pants. Like.... the actual pants he wore in prison.......in Topeka. 

TUESDAY: Zone powwow and District Meeting. Nothing too happenin'. Sister Furner was super sick so she stayed with a member. (Thank you sister Bidwell!) 

WEDNESDAY: So..... we got a call from Sister Bell. She wanted us to drive down to Wichita to go to the Wesley medical center down there. It's a super nice hospital (by kansas standards), and it is close to mission HQ.  That way, President and Sister Bell would keep and eye out for us and know what was going on. So we drove the 2 1/2 hours down  (ps I really don't mind road trips) (and I've gotten real good at driving long distances). So we get there and they immediately rushed us into the ER and got Sister Furner on and iv. Seriously,  within a half hour of us getting there! No 2 hour wait at this place! (unlike the ER we went to in Topeka. Yeah, that was a nightmare) They do an EKG and all these tests.. including a spinal tap! ah! But she couldn't really feel it due to the numbness. Phew! But also not phew. We got to the hospital at around 3, and we were admitted at like 9pm. One hour shorter than the entire ER stay in Topeka. Efficiency is something a hospital should not lack in. President and Sister Bell came to see us :) We had left all of our stuff in the car (we packed for like 4 days because we didn't know how long we'd be there) and my companion is on a gurney  hooked up to all this stuff, and so she can't walk me down. So the one person who volunteered to help me get the stuff out of the car is President Bell. So its just president and I, walking through this maze of a hospital trying to find our car. Talk about awkward!  Not awkward because President is intimidating at all, but it was just me and him.... not used to that at all. But Sister Bell brought me chick-fil-A for dinner:) She's the sweetest!

So we had nurses coming in and out every hour... all night long. And we were on hospital beds..... 

So that's how the night went.

THURSDAY: The day started off with breakfast and Sister Furner was able to keep that down!!!! yay!! They put her on the grand daddy of all nausea meds (it's amazing she says!) Anyway, it works wonders. Then they did an MRA and while they did that Sister bell took me to lunch to get some fresh air and get me out and walking. We went to chick-fil-a of course, and we talked a lot about different questions I had. She answered them and then some:) OK OK....let's just talk about how I  literally have the best mission president, and mission mom in the whole universe. No joke. So after we got back, Sister Furner got an EEG test, and a mono test and everything came back clear including spinal tap. So... nothing is majorly wrong. yay!! But we still have no idea what's going on. We saw the neurologist and he did a few tests and he took lots and lots of notes and left........uh... "so? what do you think is going on?" "please tell us!" 

And... so that was Thursday. Oh, and everyone in that hospital thinks we're nuns. We tried to explain but they were not believing it.  Haha....we're nuns.

FRIDAY: The doctor came in and told us that because everything came back clear she could be released!!!!! yay!!!!!!! That was around lunch time. The neurologist wasn't going to get back to us until later, so we packed up. And as soon as they took her off the IV we were outta there! We spent the night at the STL's apartment in Wichita. We need some good sleep for a big day tomorrow!

SATURDAY: ELDER HOLLAND CAME AND SPOKE TO OUR MISSION!!!!!!!

and President Christensen and Elder Deshler. 

THREE HOURS!! of spiritual revelation. It was so AMAZING!!!  And we got a picture of all the missionaries (except the Emporia sisters.... they missed the bus ...oops) 

So yeah it was a great day:) and then a 2.5 hour drive back to Topeka! It was so amazing to spend the night in our own beds though!! Truly lovely. 

SUNDAY: Super fun day......although, none of our investigators came to church. They probably think we forgot about them.... or they forgot about us.... either one. 

And then today (to tie in the prison pants from above)... we found out one of the shawnee recent converts is going to jail.  He's one of our YSAs.  He says its on false charges and that he will only be there for a short time, but he's suppose to go through the temple in july........

so that was the week...... 

Thanks everyone for all the prayers in Sister Furner's behalf. She says it's weird, but she can totally feel them.

Hey,
So this week has been really scary. Sister Furner woke up with pain last week, and this week it has only gotten worse. She can't feel her head and down to the middle of her back and all the way up into her cheeks. Sometimes her arms feel numb and she is vomiting all the time.  I'm really nervous. Our phone is going off non-stop with calls to Sister Bell, our medical coordinator, or the general medical coordinator over several missions.  We spent 7 and a half hour in the emergency room Saturday night. Sister Furner got an MRI and it came back clear. She had a rash that went down the front and back of her. In the ER, the doctors just treated her with "general head ache" because they don't know what's causing her symptoms. The General medical coordinator says that nothing is pointing to any specific "disease", but he is really concerned about a few things. No one is really telling us what is going on. We may have to drive down to Wichita today.
Please Please pray for my companion Sister Furner!  I am a little distracted. This week was hard. 

April 20

Hey, SO ....I've been thinking about what I want to be when I grow up.... Like I'm 5 years old.

But I really want to go into art. I think i'd be happy doing other things because i'd try to make the best of it, but honestly, I just can't see myself doing anything else. I really think deeply about art.... and it's how I speak and how I can express my emotions.  I didn't realized how much I needed that outlet until I didn't have the time, and when I really needed it most. I'm a happy person when I can use my hands and move things and discover.

 And I've also been noticing that I like fitting things together, like parts, cogs and gears. I think I could totally be a mechanic. hahaha! I played plumber last night and took apart the sink in our bathroom. Then put it back together trying to find the clog:) And last week we volunteered at TCCP a non profit bike shop.  I was taking bikes apart and BIKES ARE SO COOL!! So many little moving parts that all fit together perfectly! Anyway...I'm just thinking.

April 13

MONDAY: We had a crazy time at the dojo! No really.... I'm still tired from it. We learned about strikes. (Mostly jabs and cross punches) but I love going there. 

TUESDAY: We had Allison Wilkes, a girl in our ward who is preparing to be a missionary, come with us to district meeting. We also took her to go see a few potentials. We were able to see so many people!!! Yay missionary work:) 

WEDNESDAY: We got a return appointment to go see Brian, and oh my goodness it was one of the best lessons that has ever happened!! The spirit was extremely strong!! Brian opened right up with some of the things he's struggling with and all three of us (allison came with us again), were able to bear testimony about the atonement of Jesus Christ. All three of us testified of hope and peace through the gospel. He is still hesitant about baptism but I think it will happen!  He is solid!! I have so much faith in him:) 

Wow... Wednesdays are miracle days! They always are huge part of my updates. So after we talked with Brian, we went to go see Judy. Oh Brother,  I love this woman!! I want her as my bodyguard. She has no fear!! Anyway she has quit everything!!!  We've taught her the word of wisdom before, but she thought it was crazy, and then all of a sudden, she's like "man this is really stupid what you're doing to yourself, I gotta be a mom!!!"... and she quit. We fasted and prayed with her for an extra boost, and the elders came over with us to give her a blessing. After the blessing she said,  "Dude. What just happened? What was that?! I feel all warm, and happy.... and dizzy" hahaha! We laughed and then testified and she cried a little or a lot. It was awesome.

THURSDAY: I have no recollection about what happened on Thursday. 

FRIDAY: ZONE TRAINING!!! We met this one lady who kept us for an hour and a half talking about trains. We said maybe 10 words. No joke! So...that was an adventure. 

SATURDAY: We went to TCCP!! the COOLEST PLACE EVER!!!!! Topeka Community Cycling Project:) 

They take in old bikes and take them apart. Then they build new bikes and restore and fix bikes. And...if you volunteer there for 5 hours you can get a free bike!! So i'm going to probs take my bike in and get it fixed up. #admiralrevamped

SUNDAY: BRIAN CAME TO CHURCH AND LOVED IT!!!!

We saw lots and lots of miracles. We taught 54 lessons in one week!

PS....So I only have 8 months left! It's going by too fast!! When people ask how long I've been out it makes me sick inside because I only have so much time left. No offense but I don't want to leave Kansas. 

I love you all so much but I really don't want to come home.

I HAVE THE POWER!!

March 29

HELLOOOOOO EVERYBODY!!!! 

MONDAY: We had a bowling night:) we went bowling with 2 liter bottles and a soccer ball in the church cultural hall:) that was fun 

TUESDAY: We had a really great district meeting. We took one of our YSA who is waiting on her mission call to district meeting to see how it was. 

We also had a HUGE breakthrough with one of our less actives and got her started on a testimony building program to get her started preparing her for a mission! She she wants to leave in june ish. 

WEDNESDAY: We had sister's conference!!! I got to see sister Herrin!!!!!!! It was awesome! 

I gave a training on Drops of Awesome! I feel like I did pretty good:) 

We had the whole thing centered on facing the light and really living for Christ. Not just like living but LIVING!!! Really feeling life in you because of Christ. It was so awesome!!! I learned so much about who the Lord really wants me to be. 

Then we had a super awesome dinner with some of our members at Panera!! 

THURSDAY: NOBODY ANSWERED!!! We had a ton of super awesome solid appointments set up and we took a member and everything and no one answered. We talked to a ton of people about the #BECAUSEHELIVES video:) You should all go watch it!! It's amazing! 

FRIDAY: And still no one.  BUT we met these guys who are searching... Markese and Juan:) 

We also fasted for a Member and his less active family. 

SATURDAY: No one answered 

SUNDAY: No one came to church. BUT we found out that prayer and fasting works!!!! The member informed us that is Mom wants to starts family prayer!!!!! GOD IS SO GOOD!! 

So today we found out about transfers:( Sister Kuchin is going to Pratt, and my new companion is going to be Sister Furner. I have no idea who she is. But I'm super Excited for this next transfer. It's gonna be awesome!!! 

and guess what?!?! ...WE ARE GETTING IPADS NEXT TRANSFER!!!

AND THE MISSIONARIES WHO LEAVE AFTER NOVEMBER 15TH GET TO KEEP THEIRS!!! 

(but I have to pay for it.. bummer.)

March 23

Monday: We went to the capitol building to see a tour of the rotunda and go out on top of the capitol building. 300 feet in the air!!! aaaah!! so cool!! 
Then we had an awesome FHE activity. Cake wars! Hunger games vs. Harry Potter! (Harry potter won)
Our message that we shared was that no man can serve two masters. That you can't serve God and mammon. You can't be on both teams at the same time. So that was way way fun. 

Tuesday: We had an awesome district meeting and then visited one of our less actives who lives in an old folks rehab center. She is battling depression and health problems. She has a hard time getting out of her room even though she is fully capable. We convinced her to have our lesson in the family room, and it was awesome!! We got to talk to her neighbors and she was laughing and joking and having a blast!! We talked about the rod of iron and how we need to hold it continually.  But then she says, "well yeah until a bolt of lightning strikes it"... she thought it was the funniest thing she's ever heard!! hahaha Not the best joke I've heard, but it's really great to see her light up like that :) 

Wednesday: Ok so today was crazy!!  We went over to a potential investigators house and he wasn't there, but his girlfriend was and so we talked to her. She let us in and listened to us for a little while, then suddenly UNLOADED and told all of the crazy, terrible, dangerous situations she's in. That she was currently in a pretty bad relationship with our potential investigator. Sister Kuchin and I were just like "uuuuuuuuh what is going on?" "what do we do?" "what do we say?"   We comforted her told her it wasn't her fault, and that our Heavenly Father watched over her and loves her so much! And that he will always love her! A member was with us and she spoke up and stared telling her about her mother and sister who were once in the same situation that she is.   The member started telling her that she needed to get out and that we were here for her.  She was then like "holy cow, I don't know why I just told you all of that".. and we testified that God sent us to her and that we loved her and she just sort-of in hysterics. We set up a church tour and we're getting an appointment to have her talk with bishop. We had no idea what to do except have her call LDS social services. We were so sad for her.

Oh...also on wednesday we got TIWI 

You may be asking yourself what a TIWI is. Well... just imagine having a backseat driver all the time...Every single time you drive!  A  babysitter that sits in your front window and monitors how fast you're going, and if you have your seatbelt on, and if you go over a bump or round a corner too fast, and if you accelerate or brake too fast. You have to log on every time you start driving, and every time you get a violation it's reported to the mission president. 

Thursday: We had a dinner appointment with one of our less actives and she is the funniest!!! 

Friday: We had a crazy busy day!! Miracles for days 

Saturday: Another busy day 

Sunday: baptism!!!! Double dunk session!!!!!!
